Full-time Casual Storeperson for Heavy Fabrication Workshop in the Lower Hunter

We are pleased to offer an opportunity to join our client as a full-time casual store person. The primary responsibility of this role is to control the ordering and issuing of PPE and consumables (eg: grinding discs) to boilermakers, welders and trades assistants in a busy workshop environment. This role will also include inspection inspection and maintenance of power tools and electrical leads on the shop floor. This role is a full-time casual dayshift role (Mon-Fri 6.30am-3pm and as required). You will work closely with permanent and labour hire tradesmen and report directly to the workshop manager.

Skills and Experience
To be successful you will need:

  • Familiarity with heavy structural fabrication projects from either a trade or trade assistant perspective;
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to discipline workers taking too much gear;
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to keep clear records of stock levels;
  • Strong motivation to succeed and a lot of energy.
Candidates who have engineering workshop storeperson experience and/or electrical tag and test experience will be highly regarded.
