Our client is a global leader in industrial and environmental testing services. They operate an established Destructive Testing Workshop in Newcastle. This workshop provides a safe, organised, local work environment and a flexible approach to management.

We are pleased to offer an opportunity to join the workshop as a member of their manual machining team. The primary responsibility of this role will be operation of a manual lathe to turn metal castings into finite samples for destructive testing. This is a repetitive, technically basic work across several manual machining tools but forms part of a highly technical process. This role suits a curious manual machinist with a broad range of experience who is seeking easy local work. This is a causal day shift role. You will be expected to work fairly independently and report directly to the workshop supervisor.
Skills and Experience
To be successful you will need:
  • A relevant trade certificate;
  • Demonstrated competency in a range of manual machining tasks;
  • A stable work history.
