As a leader in hydraulic engineering services across Australia, our client operates an established workshop in the Lower Hunter Valley servicing the largest mining and industrial clients in the area.
We are pleased to offer an opportunity to join their workshop machining team. The primary responsibilities of these roles will be operating a manual lathe. Must be confident with a wide variety of lathe work. Initial placement be day shift Casual for 3 month’s probation before moving into a permanent role. Once in a permanent role afternoon shift opportunities may become available. You will be supported by senior machinists and report directly to the workshop supervisor.
Skills and Experience
To be successful you will need:
  • Relevant trade qualifications;
  • Demonstrated competency in operating manual lathes;
  • Confident experience in your trade
  • A stable work history;
  • Additional qualifications such as fork lift or current first aid will be highly regarded.Candidates MUST be willing and able to travel to Newcastle for interviews and machine tests, and MUST be willing and able to relocate to Newcastle for the job.
