Project Engineer

INTRODUCTION

Due to growth and expansion our Client now requires a Project Engineer to join their group. With IS 9001 and AS/NZS 4801 accreditation they are a Quality and Safety business focused on delivering outstanding results to their their stakeholders. Their headquarters are conveniently located in the lower Hunter Region only 30 minutes from Newcastle, however they also have operations in Regional NSW and North QLD.

This is a senior role that requires an experienced Project Engineer with a proven track record of planning and delivering complex site based projects. You must have the qualifications, skills, and experience to deliver quality on time.

Current major projects are in the Water and Rail industries. While this position is primarily based on running current projects we are focused on further development in the Water Industry and experience within would be highly beneficial.

 

THE ROLE

The Project Engineer is accountable to the Operations Manager and the responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

Projects

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders including sub-contracts
  • Perform risk management to minimise project risks
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
  • Assign responsibilities and mentor project team
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
  • Assist tendering team prepare tenders
  • Big variety of projects valued from $5k to $5m

Zero Harm (Safety & Environment)

  • Ensure Zero Harm for the project complies with the requirements as outlined in the safety management plan.

IR/HR

  • Complete individual Employee performance reports to identify positive / negatives per individual and also to ensure correct utilisation of disciplinary action and counselling requirements in consultation with management

Communication

  • Ensure the requirements of the Management Plans as well as all updates are communicated to all personnel, sub-contractors and, where appropriate visitors to the project

 

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Tertiary qualified in Engineering
  • 5 years + experience as a Project Engineer with a proven record of success in similar role to the above
  • You must be a committed individual focused on delivering outstanding results for your employer and client
  • Able to lead, mentor, discipline and motivate teams
  • Anticipated hours of work being 10 hours daily Monday – Friday plus at times additional hours and weekend work.
  • You must be dedicated and take satisfaction from achieving results on the back of hard work
