INTRODUCTION

Our Client now requires a Site Supervisor to join their group. With IS 9001 and AS/NZS 4801 accreditation they are a Quality and Safety focused business with a main goal of delivering outstanding results to their stakeholders. Their headquarters are conveniently located in the lower Hunter Region only 30 minutes from Newcastle.

This role requires an experienced Site Supervisor with a proven track record of safe work practices and the ability to Supervise teams of 5-20 Trades People. You must have the qualifications, skills, and experience to deliver quality on time.

Current major projects are in the Rail, Water & Mining industries.

 

THE ROLE

The Site Supervisor is accountable to the Project Manager and the responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

General

  • Conduct daily pre-starts with crews and individuals, Identifying possible hazards & controls.
  • Ensuring that all shift activities are planned prior to the shift to provide clear instructions to the Leading Hands & Work Crews.
  • Manage all employees work times (Start, Finish & Crib Breaks) to maximise productivity to meet its full potential.
  • Attend weekly planning meetings to make sure all aspects of the project are being met along with outlook of managing works & maintain schedule.

 

Zero Harm (Safety & Environment)

  • Ensure Zero Harm for the project complies with the requirements as outlined in the safety management plan.

IR/HR

  • Complete individual Employee performance reports to identify positive / negatives per individual and also to ensure correct utilisation of disciplinary action and counselling requirements in consultation with management
  • Management of daily timesheets to ensure this process is up to date with any issues being resolved.

Communication

  • Toolbox talks to be conducted with any Bulletins & information regarding the Project to be distributed to the Leading Hands & Workforce.

 

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Tertiary qualified in Boilermaking or Fitter & Turner.
  • 5+ years within a similar Supervisory role
  • Able to follow direction from your superiors in line with the Project.
  • Able to lead, mentor, discipline and motivate teams
  • Able to work paid overtime as required
  • You must be dedicated and take satisfaction from achieving results on the back of hard work
